1673-01-07At a meeting of the Selectmen the 7th of January 1673 there was an agreement made between
said selectmen and Anthony Bennett vis. that the said Anthony is to seal the meeting house on the
inside with deal boards from the groundsell to the plate, the boards to be planed and rabbitted as the
seat is that the said Anthony built in the meeting house on the east side, likewise he is to make
shutters to all meeting house windows to make them close & tight, in consideration whereof the said
Anthony is to have by the hundred four shillings per hundred for the sealing work as it is found by
measure when it is done only with reference to the shutters he is to have five shillings more besides
the four shillings a hundred for the sealing work all which he is to be paid out of the Town rate in
such pay as the constable gets in.
