1784-02-03At a meeting of the Selectmen February 3d 1784. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Curtis Woodberry 25/1 for abatement of his poll tax in 1781, he being in captivity. Ordered the Treasurer to pay the heirs of John Woodberry 40/ on account of their sons being in captivity in 1781 and they being under port circumstances. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Jonathan Patch 43/abatement of his Class Tax on account of his moving out of the state about that time in paying his Class Tax in the town where he moved to. Ordered the Treasurer to pay John Creesy Jr. five pound two shillings in ten pence 93/ for the principal of the note he had against the Town and 9/10 for the interest of said note that was due. Ordered the Treasurer to pay John Creesy 6/10 for the interest of the note he had against the Town of£ 5.13.3. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Israel Green 22/9 for abatement of Nathaniel Trask’s tax in 1782, dying abroad. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Mark Morse 34/8 on account of his misfortune at sea in 1783. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Andrew Elliott 2d eleven pound for the following particulars his £ s d 1.4.0 for warning four town meetings. 0.9.0 for warning of Town officers to be sworn. 0.18.4 abatement of Hannah Creesy’s tax, deceased, poor. 1.7.5 Rollin’s tax, very poor, nothing to pay. 1.2.9 Thomas Davis 2d tax, died at sea, left nothing. 1.2.9 for Jonathan Leech’s tax, remains abroad. 1.7.10 for abatement of James MacDormon’s tax, poor. 2.5.6 for James Porter’s tax, not belonging to town. 1.2.9 for abatement of William Elliott’s poll, being in a poor state of health. £11.0.4
