1784-03-02nd At a Meeting of the Selectmen March 2 1784. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Capt. William Bartlett £ 8.5.0 - to £ 7.16 of said sum for abatement of that part of his tax for 1783 that was for the money he had in the Continental Loan Certificates and 9/ abatement of part of his Negro’s tax in 1782. nd Ordered the Treasurer to pay Dr. Benjamin Jone’s 2 seven pound fourteen shillings and nine pence for sundry visits and medicines to the following persons under the care of the Overseers of this Town... etc. 1. 3. 0 for a child put out at James Patch’s. 4.14.9 for Ebenezer Williams acct. 1.17.0 for wid. Hannah Clark under their care 7.14.9 nd Ordered the Treasurer to pay Dr. Benjamin Jone’s 2 39/7 for abatement of his poll and personal estate tax he paying the same in the state of New Hampshire being a legal inhabitant there in 1783. Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Sears 12/4 extra charge and labor done on the Highways as Surveyor of Ward No. 9 the year past. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Capt. Asa Leech two pound eight shillings and four pence 15/ of said sum for giving orders for drawing supplies for the wife of Andrew Gage 33/1 for the expense of Town’s Committee, Justices and Selectmen at his house the year past Ordered the Treasurer to pay Benjamin Woodberry 2d 40/ abatement of his poll tax and part of his personal estate on account of his poor state of health. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Israel Green jr. 24/ being over taxed that sum in 1784. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Robert Patch 14/ he being over taxed that sum in 1783 in his personal estate. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Simeon Miller six pounds thirteen shillings and four pence for keeping District School at Bald Hill for 1783. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Peter Pride Jr. £ 6.13.4 for keeping the Farms District School this winter season. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Jeffery Thissell Jr. six shillings for abatement of his personal estate tax in 1783 being over taxed that sum. Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Green 20/4 abatement of part of his personal estate tax he being over taxed that sum.
