At a meeting of the Selectmen August 5 1783.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Zachariah Morgan 29/3 abatement of his tax on account of his
being in captivity for 1781.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Joseph Williams £ 2.10.0 on account of his son’s being taken
and under poor circumstances, it being for abatement of his taxes 1781.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay wid. Priscilla Williams 60/ for to enable her to maintain her son
that is non compus and sick.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Joseph Herrick £ 2.9.6 in part for keeping of Grammar School
as per agreement.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Hazeltine thirteen pounds sixteen shillings and four
pence £ 13.6.8 of it for keeping of the District School at Bass River and the Ferry districts for the
year 1783 and 9/8 for abatement of Abigail Gallop’s and Mary Stone’s taxes for 1782, under poor
circumstances.
