At a meeting of Selectmen of Beverly March 4 1783 they granted following license.
We, the Selectmen of Beverly, in consequence of an act of the General Court of the Commonwealth

of Massachusetts passed March 7 1781 entitled an act to regulate the sale of goods at public vendue
etc. do hereby grant license and authority to Josiah Bachelder Jr. Esq. To act as auctioneer for this
town for one year from this date.
