1782-03-05At a meeting of the Selectmen March the 5th 1782. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Jonathan Dodge 2d Constable to pound eleven shillings to be paid in new emission at one and seven eighths for one of it being for abatement in his list as followeth. viz. being [illegible] amount to the said sum. 20.4.0 for Hannah Cox’s tax, son lost at sea, poll. 29.7 .6 for John White’s tax, absconded from the Town. 21.4.0 for Joseph Patton’s tax, not belonging to the town. 16.18.0 for John Porter ditto, very poor. 17.0.0 for Abner Haggett’s tax, not of the Town. 12.0.0 for James Meacham ditto, no interest in Town. 19.2.0 for Nathan Raymond’s ditto, in captivity. 55.14.0 for Philip Richardsons tax, being long in captivity £ 191.9.6 Ordered the Treasurer to pay Andrew Allen 24/abatement of his poll tax, on account of his losses by fire etc. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Simeon Miller £ 3.11.1 to be paid in the new emission at one and seven eighths for one it being for keeping of a District School in Bald Hill District near Benjn. Larcom in the winter of 1780 & 1781 past.
