1782-08-24th At a meeting of the Selectmen August 241782, they ordered that a town meeting should be warned rd & held on Tuesday the 3 day of September next at five o’clock in the afternoon at the stated place for holding Town Meetings in said Town. 2ly. To see if the Town will order their Treasurer to pay Capt. Eleazar Giles the money that he hath loaned the Town for or appoint some person to be their agent to appear at court or settle said affair and act and do any thing relative to said affair as they in their wisdom shall think best. 1ly. To act on the petition of Capt. Eleazar Giles relative to making of his money which he hath received of the Town good to him & which consideration was referred to this meeting and there was a warrant issued out to Constable William Hazeltine to warn the same accordingly.
