At a meeting of the Selectmen June 4 1782.
Ordered the Treasury to pay Benjamin Smith five pound fourteen shillings for extraordinary
charge as Surveyor on the Highway in Ward No. 3.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Joseph Baker 72/being overtaxed that sum in 1782.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Butman £ 1.5.1 for abatement of a poll taxed to him,
not of age.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Capt. Israel Thorndike four pound for abatement of his taxes
made for 1781.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Job Smith £ 1.9.3 for abatement of his son’s poll tax, being in
captivity.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Richard Obear 3d 25/1 abatement of a poll taxed to him, not
of age 1781.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Groves £ 3.10.0 46 shillings and five pence in full for
house rent for Samuel Giles together with 33/7 of repairs on said house expiring on the tenth of May
1782 and 23/7 for abatement of his taxes on account of his misfortune being so long detained in
captivity.
