Meeting of September 5, 2002

Present: George Johnson, Amy Siemasko, Dr. Mavis Jaworski, Steve Pike, Al Torsey

The Commission received a status report on BevCam operations from Don Berman. A
summary of these topics is attached. Specific action items are noted below.
A brief report on the new Institutional Network (I-Net) being installed by ATT was given
by Jane Lyman. A more detailed review will be given at the next meeting. A technical exchange
meeting between ATT and Beverly was requested.
Copies of the final License Agreement were distributed to all Commission members for
use in conducting its business. Members were asked to review Article 7 for discussion at the
next meeting.
Notes and action items:
1. The Commission (Siemasko) requested a copy of the letter of lease intent from BevCam
which was a letter from the City to BevCam following a School Committee meeting in which
BevCam was approved to lease studio space in the High School Patten wing. Action: Don
Berman
2. ATT (Lyman) requested a letter from the Superintendent of Schools to ATT requesting
installation of equipment required in the License Agreement Section 5.1(h) at the selected
facility in the Beverly Council on Aging building. Action: Don Berman
3. The Commission needs to discuss planning and oversight responsibilities for the “Education”
Access channel (Channel 22) with BevCam and the School Department.
Action: George Johnson
4. The Commission (Jaworski) requested a copy of the current ATT customer complaint and
resolution policy as outlined in Article 7 of the License Agreement. The Commission will
review and establish its oversight and reporting requirements required under Article 7. Dr.
Jaworski will review the comments on ATT performance brought up at the ATT/Comcast
ownership transfer meeting and carry them forward for this Commission to handle.
