1781-02-05At a Meeting of the Selectmen Feby. 5th 1781. They ordered that a Town meeting should be verbally warned and held on Tuesday the 6th day of February instant at one o’clock in the afternoon at the stated place for holding of Town meetings in said Town. To see if the town will come into the measures of classing the Inhabitants for the procuring their proportion of soldiers for to serve in the Continental Army for three years or during the war and act and do any thing relative to procuring said men and raise money for that purpose if thought necessary, and there was warrant issued out to Constable Jonathan Dodge to warn Bass River and Bald Hill Districts and Constable Benjamin Obear to warn the Ferry and Farm Districts and to Constable William Hazeltine to warn Royal Side [Ryal Side] District agreeable to the order of the Selectmen.
