1781-08-24th At a meeting of the Selectmen August 241781. The following orders are all to be paid off in the new emission at one and seven eights per one by order of the Selectmen viz. Ordered the Treasurer to pay John Vickery 24/ for abatement of poll tax through mistake 1781. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Jonathan Presson 4/ for abatement of a poll, in captivity. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Josiah Foster £ 1.6.11 for abatement of his state tax, he being in captivity. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Edward Foster£ 1.12.0 abatement of his state tax 1781, he being in captivity. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Livermore Whittridge 30/ abatement of part of his State Tax 1781, on account of losses by sea. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Thomas Woodberry 30/ abatement of his State Tax 1781, on account of great losses at sea. Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Homan 50/ abatement of part of his State Tax for 1781, by reason of losses at sea. Ordered the Treasurer to pay John Dyson 40/ abatement of State Tax 1781, by reason of losses at sea. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Benjamin Corning 24/ abatement of part of his State Tax, he being in captivity. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Thomas Stephens three pounds abatement of part of his State Tax and 1781, on account of losses at sea.
