1781-03-08th At a meeting of the Selectmen March 8 1781. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Constable Robert Standley six hundred and sixteen pounds eleven shillings for abatements in his list as followeth. Viz. On the 8th of March the Treasurer was ordered to pay Robert Standley 47/1 for abatements in his list. 158.9.0 Benjamin Obear Jr. tax, taken, if living. 22.3.0 Jonathan Harris’ tax, in captivity. 18.15.0 James Obear’s tax, taken, if living. 91.3.0 William Dike’s tax, taken, if alive. 77.11.0 George Gross’ tax, in captivity. 22.5.0 Davis Allen’s tax, moved down to Eastward. 112.0.0 Jonathan Foster’s tax, taken, if living. 21.3.0 Joseph Haskell’s heirs ditto, extreme poor. 51.18.0 Jonathan Morse’s widow ditto, very poor. 41.4.0 Benjamin Haskell’s tax, being extreme poor. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Francis Smith £ 24.12 he being taxed that sum too much by mistake in taxes 1780. Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Hazeltine £ 47 for abatement of Archalus Brown’s son’s poll tax in 1780, being not of age.
