At a meeting of the Selectmen June the 5 1781.
They ordered the Treasurer to pay constable Benja. Obear in old emission nine hundred and
two pounds eighteen shillings it being for abatement of taxes in his list in 1780 as followeth.

Ordered the Treasurer to pay Amos Hitchings £ 30 being over taxed that sum in 1780.

At a meeting of the Selectmen Mar. 61781, they ordered that a Town meeting should be verbally
warned and held on the eighth day of March instant at three o’clock afternoon at the stated place for
holding of Town meetings in said Town.
1ly. To see what instructions the Town will give their Committee for procuring the men for this
Town for three years or during the War relative to their procuring men out of the State of
New Hampshire or any other State and give them any other instructions as may be thought
proper.
2ly. To see what for the measures they will come into for raising, hiring or procuring of money for
procuring of men for the Continental Army for three years or during the War and there was
a warrant issued out to Constable Jonathan Dodge to warn Royal Side [Ryal Side] and Bass
River Districts and to Constable Weeden Cole to warn Bald Hill District and to Constable
Robert Standley to warn the Farm District and to Benjamin Obear to warn the Ferry District
agreeably to the above said order.
