2001-02-27 CABLE TV ADVISORY COMMISSION City of Beverly, Massachusetts Al Torsey, chairman; Dan Murphy, Amy Siemasko, Robert Lee, Arthur Crandall, George Johnson Meeting of February 27, 2001 Beverly Public Library – 8 a.m. Chairman Al Torsey, Dan Murphy, Robert Present: Lee, Amy Siemasko, Arthur Crandall Absent: George Johnson Also attending: William August, Esq., Attorney at Law, Epstein & August, Boston; Tom Scully, Director of Community Services; Jane Lyman, Government Relations, AT&T Broadband. In accordance with previous discussions, attendees reviewed the details of Article 5 of the proposed contract license renewal document. Lyman submitted a list of equipment recently installed in the Hamilton-Wenham Library to record official meetings there as an example of equipment needed for meetings in the Beverly City Council Chambers and the School Committee meeting space. She suggested that three cameras would be a typical installation. August suggested that a subcommittee be formed to evaluate equipment at the Tozer Road studio for its condition and usefulness. Members discussed the details of a proposed move of equipment from Tozer Road to an Access studio location to be determined. It was decided that the Licensee and a representative of the Access Corp. would coordinate inventory, packaging and relocation of equipment. August suggested formation of a Transition Team when the time is appropriate. He suggested that the Beverly CAC move as quickly as possible on the details of establishing an Access Corp. Establishment of an I-Net system was discussed briefly. It was decided to include details of equipment as cited by Ronald L. Baker, Manager, I-Net Integration for AT & T Broadband. Scully is preparing a list of potential I-Net sites for consideration by the parties. Lyman said several I-Net installations were in the works and that work on a Beverly I-Net could not be expected before 2003. August said a 12-month installation period would be more reasonable. Members decided to brief Mayor Scanlon on progress to date. A meeting was set with the mayor (Issuing Authority) for Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at 9:30 a.m. in the mayor’s office in City Hall. The next Cable Advisory Commission meeting will be Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at 8 a.m. at Beverly Public Library.
