1780-07-04th At a Meeting of the Selectmen July 4 1780. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Cornelius Woodberry £ 11.4.0 for abatement of his son’s polling tax for 1779, he being long missing. Ordered the Treasurer to pay widow Abigail Elliott twelve pound being overtaxed that sum in 1780. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Benjamin Obear one hundred and fifteen pounds seventeen shillings and six pence it being for the following abatement in his List viz. for 1779. £ 14.8.0 for Peter Prides Jr.’s tax, in captivity 34.1.0 for Eli Servy tax, died abroad. 33.2.0 for Andrew Foster tax, lost at sea. 34.6.6 Cesar Davis tax, lost at sea, supposed. £ 115.17.6 Ordered the Treasurer to pay wid. Hannah Giles£ 80 in full for keeping Elizabeth Howard’s child three-month expiring on the 7th instant. Ordered the Treasurer to pay the wife of Daniel Woodberry one hundred fifteen pound in full th for keeping of Susanna Ellinwood’s child till 7 instant. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Capt. William Langdell one hundred and sixty pounds in full for th keeping of Molly Hales and Molly Ellinwood three months expiring on the 7 instant.
