1780-02-21st At a Meeting of the Selectmen Feb. 21 1780. Ordered the Treasurer to pay wid. Hannah Giles twenty-one pound in part for keeping Elizabeth Hayward’s child the last quarter. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Nathaniel Greenwood five pound twelve shillings for abatement of a poll taxed to him, not of age. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Israel Dodge twenty-two pound ten shillings being over taxed and met with losses in 1779. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Joseph Lovett £ 18.12.0 being abatement of his son’s poll tax, being wounded and not able to do any labor in 1779. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Nehemiah Presson seventeen pounds twelve shillings for extraordinary charge as Surveyor of the Highways. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Lieut. Samuel Cole fifty-five pound ten shillings in full for house rent for Joseph Lovett’s family and for building smoke house and sundry other things for the Town when said Lovett’s family had the small pox.
