1780-12-11At a Meeting of the Selectmen Decr. 11,1780. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Peter Homan seventeen pounds for abatement of poll tax, not of age in the beef tax. th At a Meeting of the Selectmen December 11 1780. They ordered that a Town meeting should be warned and held on Wednesday the 20 day of December instant at one of the clock in the afternoon at the stated place for holding of Town meetings in said Town to be verbally notified by the Constables. 1ly. To choose a Town Treasurer in the room of Henry Herrick Esq., deceased. 2ly. To see what measures the Town will come into for the procuring of the men sent for from this nd Town by a resolve of the General Court of the 2 of December instant for to serve in the Continental Army for three years or during the present war and raise money for that purpose and proportion the Inhabitants in classes for the purposes of raising said men agreeable to said resolve and act and do any thing relative to that affair as they in their wisdom shall think best. And there was a warrant issued out to each of the Constables in the Town to verbally warn the district they were Constable for accordingly.
