1780-12-19th At a Meeting of the Selectmen December 19 1780. They ordered the Treasure to pay either of the Selectmen thirteen hundred and forty-two pound four shillings to procure or pay for the beef sent for to this Town in own order and in other the sum of two hundred and forty pounds for the purposes of paying for beef for the Continental Army. th At a Meeting of the Selectmen December 19 1780 the ordered that a Town meeting should be th verbally warned and held on Wednesday the 20 day of December instant at two o’clock in the afternoon at the stated place for holding Town meetings in said Town to come into some measures for the procuring of the beef sent for from this Town by a resolve of the General Court of the fourth of December instant and raise money for that and any other purpose and act thereon as they may think proper and there was warrant issued out to the five Constables to warn the same accordingly.
