At a Meeting of the Selectmen July 71779 they ordered a Town meeting to be warned & held on

the 12 day of July instant at the stated place for holding Town meetings in said Town at three
o’clock in the afternoon.
1ly. To have the address of the Honorable Congress to the inhabitants of the United States
communicated to them and to come into such measures for complying with the same as they
in their wisdom shall think best.
2ly. To take into consideration circular letter from the Committee of Correspondence etc. of the
Town of Boston together with the proceedings of said Town relative to measures adopted
for the appreciation of the paper currency and pass such Resolves relative thereto as they shall
think proper.
3ly. To see what measures this Town will come into relative to the appreciation of the paper
currency and act and do any thing relative to public affairs as shall be thought will be most
for the public good and there was a warrant issued out to Constable Jonathan Dodge to warn
the same accordingly.
