1779-07-06th A meeting of the Selectmen July 6 1779. Ordered the Treasured pay Henry Herrick Jr. £ 75 for keeping of school one month expiring th on the 25 June last. Ordered the Treasured pay Jacob Gray Morgan six pounds abatement of his poll tax in 1778, he being in the hands of the enemy. Ordered the Treasured to pay John Molson six pound abatement of his poll tax in 1778, being in captivity most of the time since the tax was made. Ordered the Treasured pay the wife of Daniel Woodbury twenty-seven pounds in full for keeping of Suzanna Ellinwood’s child till the 7th of July instant. Ordered the Treasured pay Constable Peter Obear Jr.£ 30.6.8 being for the following abatements in his list of assessments viz. For Anna Knowlton’s tax £ 8.15, died abroad, extreme poor. For Benjn. Obear’s highway tax Manchester 7/ not warned. For Jacob Woodbury’s tax £ 8.2.6, died was small clocks, left poor family. For Jonathan Harris ditto£ 9.1.8 in captivity. For a poll tax to Nathaniel Woodberry’s by mistake 4 pounds. Ordered the Treasured pay William Langdell £ 30 in part towards keeping of his two poor children as per agreement. Ordered the Treasured pay James Patch £ 16 pound in full for keeping a poor child that was Miriam Presson’s to the 7th instant.
