At a meeting of the Selectmen June 2 1778.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay John Morse 45/ being overtaxed that sum in1777. To Mary
Morse 9/2 for abatement of her son’s poll, in captivity in 1777.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Nathaniel Haskell twenty-seven shillings 15/ abatement of his
Soldier Tax, he being in the Continental Army, and 12/ overtaxed in personal estate in 1777 through
mistake.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Elliott 2 18/ he paying a Soldier Tax at Manchester
previous to his moving into this Town.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay wid. Lucy Woodberry 10/ overtaxed at some in 1777.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Lieut. Samuel Cole 20/ for Daniel Woodberry’s living in his
house and sundries when the Town had said Woodberry’s house for the small pox to in.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Henry Herrick Jr. fifteen pounds for keeping the Grammar
School the month of May 1778.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Nathaniel Raymond Jr. 9/ for his assisting of the Selectmen
about taking away and making fence when the small pox was at Shaw’s.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Hazeltine six pound thirteen shillings and four pence
for keeping a District School in the Ferry Ward in 1778.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Asa Woodberry twelve pound in full for moving out of Doctor
Woodberry’s house to put the small pox therein and for damages he sustained thereby.
