At a meeting of the Selectmen April 1 1778.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Andrew Cleaves three pounds nine shillings and 2d. 16/of said
sum for moving of Daniel Woodberry’s goods from house and back again when Dane and Bradshaw
had the small pox in his house. 6/ for hauling the cord wood from the ferry to Doctor Woodberry’s
house for people sick with the small pox. 8/ for warning his ward twice verbally for town meetings
and 39/2 for abatement of William Raymond’s tax in his list, in a poor state of health.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Mr. William Butman fourteen pounds three shillings and four
pence 83/4 for keeping John Martin his last quarter as per agreement and £ 10-0-0 over and above
the agreement on account of the dearness of provisions etc. the year past.
