1778-03-09th At a Meeting of the Selectmen Mar. 9 1778. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Josiah Woodberry 42 shillings 21/ for ringing the bell for town meetings 12/ for digging grave for Joseph Peirce’s child 9/ for his sons digging of Lydia Patch’s grave. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Dea. John Conant forty four shillings 8/ of said sum for his account paid Asa Woodberry in part for damages about the small pox 18/ for time about the small pox & 18/ for services done for the town. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Lieut. Isaac Chapman four pounds two shillings for Selectmen’s expenses at his house till this date. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Isaac Thorndike 12/ for sundry services done for the town. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Joseph Wood six pound for his fee as Town Clerk the year past. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Peter Pride eight shillings and nine pence it being for interest of a note against the Town for one year of the sum of £ 7-7-0.
