1778-12-22nd At a Meeting of the Selectmen Decbr. 22 1778. Ordered the Treasury to pay Lieut. Samuel Cole sixteen pound five shillings £ 10-0-0 of said sum for part of the bounty allowed him by the Committee to go to Rhode Island as an officer of the militia there 70/ for three days and a half to procure the militia sent for from the Town to go to Winter Hill, Providence and Rhode Island 55/ for horse and expenses about the same. nd At a Meeting of the Selectmen December 22 1778. Lieut. Peter Shaw presented his account for the Selectmen’s expenses at his house in 1778 of 0-18-0 the Town accts. against him for George Raymond Jr. one day to cleanse your house 1-4-0 balance due to the Town which Joseph Wood received is 6-0 Ordered the Treasurer to pay Capt. Joseph Rea three hundred pounds, he being one of the Committee to Supply the Soldiers’ Families with necessaries etc. which sum is to enable them to procure the same.
