1778-11-03rd At a meeting of the Selectmen November 3 1778. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Noah Creesy to £ 5-5-0 for the abatement of Andrew Thorndike’s taxes in 1778, taken and long absent in the hands of the enemy. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Nathaniel Woodberry 24/2 for his son’s poll in 1779, absent in the hands of the enemy, if alive. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Henry Herrick Jr. £ 24-0-0 for keeping of the Grammar School th one month which expired on the 20 of October last and agreed with him to keep the present month for £ 30-0-0. Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Butman £ 10-6-8 forty shillings of it for two pairs of stockings for John Martin and £ 8-6-8 for keeping of John Martin his second-quarter as per agreement.
