1777-03-04th At a meeting of the Selectmen Mar. 41777. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Mr. Henry Herrick some fifteen pounds for keeping the Grammar th School three months which commenced Nov. 27 last. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Capt. James Lovett ten shillings for ten quarts of a rum for the furteige men at Hovey’s. Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Standley Jr. 2/8 for extraordinary charges as Surveyor of the Highways. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Constable Nathaniel Creesy thirty-five shillings and nine pence for the following abatements in his list viz. for Richard Leech Jr. tax 10-7 in captivity. for Daniel Swift tax 14/7 died in the Army. for John Smith tax 10-7 died in the Army. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Dea. Caleb Wallis 3/4 for keeping John Martin’s shoes in repair. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Jonathan Conant five pound two shillings for 170 weight of salt pork for the poor at 7 ½ per pound. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Jonathan Conant six pound in one ordered and three pound & two pence in one other in full of his account as followeth.
