At a meeting of the Selectmen May 23 1777.

They order to the Town Meeting be warned and held on Monday the 26 day of May instant at 9
o’clock in the morning at the stated place for holding Town Meetings in said Town.
To act on the petition of Capt. Josiah Batchelder Jr., Capt. Edmund Giles, Capt. William
Bartlett and others to see if the Town will give their consent that one or more houses in such place
or places in this Town as shall be thought safe and proper may be occupied for the benefit of
inoculation and act anything relative to that affair as they in their wisdom shall think best.
And there was a warrant issued out to Constable Robert Baker to warn verbally Bass River & Royal
Side [Ryal Side] Districts, to Joseph Obear to verbally warn the Ferry District, to Benjamin
Woodberry to warn verbally the Farms & Ball Hill District accordingly.
