At a meeting of the Selectmen May 19 1777 they reckoned and adjusted acct. was Col. Henry
Herrick, Town Treasurer and said acct. stands as followeth: viz.
The whole amount of orders and acct. this day examined and allowed besides
the sum paid as bounties to soldiers.

Also it appears that the said Treasurer hath hired the sum of £ 1124 for the use
of the Town and paid to 70 soldiers that have enlisted into the Continental Army
agreeable to the votes of the Town and hath given his security in behalf of the
Town for the same.
