1777-10-14th At a meeting of the Selectmen October 14 1777. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Mr. John Harmon 66/ together with three lbs. of pork and 3 wt. of beef is in full of his account for nursing and moving etc. of Samuel Dane when he sickened and died with the small pox. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Josiah Stone 5/ in full for his account for cutting of wood etc. for Joseph Pedrick’s wife and etc. when sickened and died. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Capt. James Lovett two pounds nine shillings and seven pence 0-8-0 for his horse cart twice to move William Lovett and Lampson with the small pox 2-1-7 for one year’s interest for a note of hand of £ 34.13.4. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Capt. Nathan Leech £ 6.5.8 it being abatement of Steven Cabot’s tax in his list it appearing that said Cabot belonged to the Town of Salem. Ordered the Treasurer greeting to pay Mr. William Butman four pounds three shillings and nd four pence for keeping of John Martin his 2 quarter as per agreement. Ordered the Treasurer to pay wid. Hannah Elliott eight shillings for house rent in full for Benjamin Pickett till 3rd of November next.
