At a meeting of the Selectmen July 2 1776.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay constable William Elliott 20/7 for abatements in his list viz. 7/2
for William Lakeman tax, he paying the same at Ipswich.
7/1 for James Goldsberry tax, absconded.
3/ James Pike highway tax, not to be found.
3/ Jesse Watts highway tax, not living in town
4d Ben. Standley highway tax, on board man of war
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Lieutenant Joshua Dodge £4 in part for entrenching tools.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Butman £4 for keeping of John Martin his first quarter
as per agreement.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay wid. Hannah Elliott 8/ for one quarter’s house rent for Benja.
Pickett which terminates on the 3d of August next.
