1776-06-17th At a meeting of the Selectmen June 171776. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Samuel Cole twenty-four shillings 8/ of said sum for removing of Priscilla Woodberry’s things on account of Thomas Carry having the small pox in Daniel Woodberry’s house 16/ for moving Daniel Wood’s goods out and home and for time expended in cleaning his house. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Jeremiah Foster 5/4 he being over taxed that sum in 1775. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Mr. William Hazeltine £ 10:11:6 £ 6:13:4 of said sum for keeping of a District School near Benja. Lovett’s 33/ for warning seven town meetings and Town officers to be sworn 7/6 for time and expense after powder to Andover and other places. 32/ for10 shovels on iron bound and 3/6 for some oil and [illegible] Brown to pay gun carriages with. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Josiah Stone four pounds one shilling and seven pence. 42/for keeping of Mary Butman four weeks etc. ½ and 6/ for extraordinary charges when she died and interred 33/7 for keeping of John May’s child 14 weeks in full till the 7th of April last. Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Taylor two pounds three shillings and four pence in full for keeping and maintaining one of John May’s children 18/ which terminated on the seventh of April last. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Stephen Bradshaw 58/10 for 19 3/4 gallons of rum for the soldiers when entrenched in this town in 1776 Col. Glover’s Regiment.
