1776-01-02nd At a meeting of the Selectmen Jan. 2 1776. Ordered the Treasurer to pay wid. Priscilla Williams thirty shillings for the maintenance of her non-compus son. Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Butman three pounds six shillings and eight pence for keeping of John Martin is 3rd quarter as per agreement. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Samuel Woodberry 3d 20/-5/10 of said sum for the abatement of Benjamin Cook’s taxes who was lost at sea. 6/2 for the Elisha Lovett’s taxes in his list lost at sea. 5/ for Dudley Well’s taxes in his list absconded. & 3/ for warning of two wards for town meeting verbally. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Mary Morse thirty-four shillings and eight pence for keeping of Susannah Patch for third-quarter as per agreement. nd Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Morgan 2 thirty-four shillings for 208 wt. of beef for a Town stock. Ordered the Treasurer to Mr. Joseph Woodberry eleven shillings and two pence for the abatements of Richard King’s and Eleazar Standish’s taxes in his list they both being gone out of the Province not to return again. Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Taylor twenty-one shillings for extraordinary charge and labor on the Highways as Surveyor. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Col. Henry Herrick twenty shillings for his extraordinary charge and labor on the Highways as Surveyor.
