At a meeting of the Selectmen May 15 1776 they ordered that a Town Meeting should be

warned and held on Friday the 24 instant at 2 o’clock afternoon at usual place for holding of town
meetings in said Town for the particulars following viz.
1ly. To elect and depute one or more persons to serve for and represent him in the Great and
General Court or Assembly appointed to be convened, held and kept or the government
th
service at the meeting house in Watertown upon Wednesday the 29 day of May instant at
9 o’clock in the morning and so from day today during their session or sessions.
2ly. To give their Representative instructions as they shall think proper relative to their supporting
of the Continental Congress in the measures of Independency.
3ly. To determine what sum of money they will grant to be raised on the ratable polls and estates
within the Town the year ensuing for defraying of the necessary charges arising within the
same.
And there was a warrant issued out to Constable Livermore Whittridge to warn the same accordingly.
