1775-03-24At a meeting of the Selectmen March 24th.1775. Ordered the Treasury to pay Nehemiah Smith twelve shillings for keeping of Susannah Ellinwood seventeen days together with her child. Ordered the Treasury to pay Mr. Weeden Cole six pound thirteen shillings and four pence for keeping of a District School near Benjamin Larcom’s the winter past. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Dea. Benjamin Cleaves five shillings of the Town’s money for abatement of his son’s poll he dying about the time that the rate was made. Ordered the Treasurer to pay Constable William Elliott fifteen shillings 5/of said sum for abatement of Thomas Tuck, Jr. poll tax he dying abroad and 5/ for abatement of Capt. John Lovett’s poll tax by reason of old age and 5/ for abatement of a poll tax to Asa Woodberry more than he had.
