At a meeting of the Selectmen Feb. 28 1775
Ordered the Town Clerk to issue out his warrant to Constable Joseph Woodberry to warn a

Town Meeting to be held on the 13 day of March next at 10 o’clock in forenoon at the stated place
for holding Town meetings in said Town.
1ly. To choose Town offices for the year ensuing.
2ly. To choose County Treasurer.
3ly. To see if the Town will mend their highways the year ensuing by a tax on the polls and estates
of the Inhabitants.
4ly. To determine what sum of money they will grant to be raised for mending their Highways the
year ensuing.
5ly. To see if the Town will give Liberty for the swine to go at-large the year ensuing being yoked
and ringed as the law directs.

6ly. To see if the Town will approve of the way laid out by the Selectmen on June 9 last for Mr.
Josiah Trow’s house to the road near Mr. William Trask’s house.

7ly. To see if the Town will approve of the way laid out by the Selectman on June 14 last from the
northwest corner of Jonathan Woodberry’s land to Obear Cove so-called.
8ly. To act on the request of Capt. George Raymond Sr., Robert Roundy, Capt. Josiah Woodberry
and Ens. Samuel Goodridge and others.
1ly. To see if the Town will vote to build a convenient house for the reception of the poor
people in the Town, and to act anything relative to building the same that may then be thought
proper and also for employing the said poor people.
2ly. To see if the Town when assembled will vote that each district shall have the nomination
of their respective officers and such persons to be chosen by the Town.
3ly. To see if the Town will pass a vote that no cord wood brought in to the same for sale
either on carts or shiles shall be exposed to sale until it is measured by some meet person
chosen by the Town or appointed by the Selectmen and sworn to the faithful discharge of that
trust as Town officers and to agree what the fee shall be for measuring by the load and
certificates thereof and what each person offending against this vote shall be fined and present
the same to the next Court of the General Sessions of the Peace to be holden at Ipswich that
it may have the sanction of a bylaw.
9ly. To act on the quest of Capt. Benjamin Cleaves, Mr. Noah Creesy and others to see if the Town
will inquire into the privilege of a landing at a place called Mingo’s Beach and devise means for
removing any encumbrance that obstructs a free passage to said Beach.
10ly. To see if the [Town] will grant the request of the Andrew Ellinwood for some allowance for
keeping of Margaret Sollows a number of years.
And there was a warrant issued out accordingly.
