1774-09-28 Electionth By order of the Selectmen Sept. 28 1774 the following warrant was issued out viz. Essex, ss. To Mr. Joseph Woodberry a constable in the town of Beverly. Greeting. In his Majesty’s Name you are hereby required forthwith to notify and warn the Freeholders of this Town to assemble and meet together on Friday the seventh day of October next at four o’clock afternoon at the stated place for holding of town meetings in said town. To make choice of some meet person having a Freehold within said County to the value at least of ten pounds per annum to be Register of Deeds and Conveyances of Lands in said County in the room of John Higginson, the late Register, who is deceased. Hereof fail not but make due return of this warrant at or before said time by order of the Selectmen th of Beverly on the 28 day of September 1774. Attest Joseph Wood. T. Clerk.
