At a meeting of the Selectmen May 18 1774.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay William Taylor twenty four shillings 12/ of said sum is for one
th
year’s house rent for Daniel Butman which terminated April 4 1774 12/ for wood found said Butman
when sick last winter by order of the Selectmen.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Nicholas Bartlett of Marblehead 8/2 for house rent for William
Hale which commenced on the eleventh day of May instant as appears per agreement.
Ordered the Treasurer to pay Joseph Woodberry 24/ for to provide weights and measures and
for pay to have them proved and sealed at the Province Treasurers as per his accounting.
We the Subscribers, Selectmen and Constables of the town of Beverly due on this 3d day of May
1774 (as by law enjoined) choose Joseph Wood to be a Sealer of Weights and Measures for the Town
of Beverly from time to time til another be chosen.
