1890-11-12 At a legal meeting of the Selectmen of the town of Beverly held at their office in the Town Hall in said town, on Wednesday the twelfth day of November in the year one thousand eight hundred and ninety at eight o'clock before noon, for the purpose of opening the envelopes and examining the ballots found in voting precincts numbered two, three, four, and five in said town, at the election held in said precincts on Tuesday, the fourth day of November in the same year, and determining the questions raised by ten or more qualified voters in each of said precincts, in accordance with their petitions, to wit:- "Believing the returns of the officers of said precinct to be erroneous as regards the objects and persons voted for upon that election," it appearing that all the candidates voted for at the said election had been duly notified of the time and place of holding the said meeting, and John W. Raymond of Beverly appeared for himself, and Simeon Dodge of Marblehead appeared for himself, and William Stopford of Beverly appeared for himself. Charles F. Lee, John F. Hill, George P. Brown, Edward A. Kilham, John M. Murney, and Robert R. Endicott, the younger of that name, were appointed tellers by the selectmen to assist them in re- counting the ballots and they were duly sworn to the faithful discharge of their duties before William H. Lovett, Town Clerk. And the said selectmen did then and there open each of the envelopes containing the ballots thrown at the voting precincts above mentioned, separately, and examine the ballots therein contained and did determine that the ballots as thrown at the election aforesaid were for the following persons and objects, namely: For Precinct Number Two For Governor John Blackmer of Springfield John Q.
