Doane served as a 1st Lieutenant with Company "B", 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division; Whereas, Stephen H. Doane was killed in action on March 25, 1969 in Vietnam; Whereas, Stephen H. Doane was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor on February 16, 1971 by the President of the United States; Therefore Be It Resolved: That the Mayor and the Board of Aldermen of the City of Beverly, Massachusetts, wish to express their desire to name April 18, 1992 as Stephen E. RECORDS OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN (e) The Parking and traffic commission shall study and make surveys and recommendations to the board of aldermen, the Planning Board and the Mayor pertaining to the development of new parking areas, the impact of new development on traffic patterns, and new rules and regulations pertaining to parking and traffic. (f) The parking commission shall be made up of representatives of the following: Police Dept. Fire Dept., Planning Dept., Beverly Business Association, the mayor's office, and a citizen appointed by the Board of Aldermen. In the first instance, the appointment of the police and fire departments is for one (1) year, Planning Department / Beverly Business Association for two (2) years and the mayor / aldermen appointments for three (3) years. In the year one thousand nine hundred and Ninety Two AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Article V. Stopping, Standing, and Parking. Div. 1. Generally. Sec. 14-116. Parking Commission by deleting the same and by adding in place thereof a new Sec. 14-116 to read as follows: "Sec. 14-116 Parking and Traffic Commission. (a) The parking and traffic commission is established to control and maintain the present municipal lots, both owned and rented by the city, which control and maintenance is subject to the approval of the board of aldermen and to monitor and make recommendations regarding traffic flow and patterns within the City of Beverly. (b) The parking and traffic conmission shall have the power to direct funds from parking meter receipts into parking lot repairs, upkeep and beautification, with the recommendation of the mayor and the approval of the board of aldermen. (c) The parking and traffic conmission shall have the power to post control signs and directional signs which pertain to parking and traffic.
