RECORDS OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN July 18, 1994 Honorable City Council City of Beverly Dear Honorable Council: I hereby establish the "Beverly Golf and Tennis Renovation Building Commission" as per Section 38 of the Beverly Charter for renovations to the Beverly Golf and Tennis Club including the HVAC System and oil storage. I hereby appoint, subject to your confirmation, the following persons to serve as members of said Building Com~nission: Mr. Louis Bennett, 1Rindge Road, Beverly, MA 01915 Mr. John Coogan, 310ber Street, Beverly, MA 01915 Mr. Robert Goldberg, 18 Puritan Road, Wenham , MA 01915 I further request that your Honorable council grant a waiver of the residency requirements concerning Mr. Goldberg. He has specific qualifications which read well onto this task and in fact might under other conditions be a bidder for part of the work which he will not be in this case. REPORTS FROM COMMITTEES: The Committee on Finance and Property to whom was referred the matter of Mayor's request to fill two part-time civilian parking meter enforcement positions, have considered said matter and beg leave to report as follows, to wit: Submit the accompanying order and recommend its adoption. ORDERED: That His Honor the Mayor be, and the same is hereby authorized to hire two part-time civilian parking meter enforcement personnel, as recommended by the Police Chief. Order read once and adopted. The Committee on Finance and Property to whom was referred the matter of Mayor's request for transfer to account "Out of State Travel", have considered said matter and beg leave to report as follows, to wit: RECORDS OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN Submit the accompanying order and recommend its adoption. That the sum of Two Hundred Forty-Nine Dollars ($249.00) be, and the same is hereby transferred from account "Mayor's Expenses" to account "Out of State Travel", in accordance with the recommendation of His Honor the Mayor. Said sum of money to be expended under the direction of the Mayor. Order read once and adopted. The Committee on Finance and Property to whom was referred the matter of Mayor's request to appro- priate $16,000 to account "Meter Personnel" have considered said matter and beg leave to report as follows, to wit: Submit the accompanying order and recommend its adoption. ORDERED: That the sum of Sixteen Thousand Dollars ($16,000.00) be, and the same is hereby appropriated to account "Meter Personnel" in accordance with the recommendation of His Honor the Mayor. Said sum of money to be expended under the direction of the Chief of Police. Order read once and passed to a second reading under charter provisions. [The Mayor has requested two readings on this matter, therefore the second reading is held.] The appropriation of Sixteen Thousand Dollars ($16,000.00) for Meter Personnel is passed on a roll call vote - 9-0. The Committee on Legal Affairs and Accounts to whom was referred the matter of Communication from Glovsky and Glovsky re conveyance of Conservation land to Conservation Commission, have considered! said matter and beg leave to report as follows, to wit: ~ Submit the accompanying order and recommend its adoption. ORDERED: That the City Council of the City of Beverly accept the conveyance of approximately 2.25 acres of land to the Conservation Commission to be held in perpetuity, as a condition of a Special Permit granted to Doctors Duane Carbone and Frank S. Carbone for an addition to rear of their office building at 550 Cabot Street. Order read once and adopted. The Committee on Legal Affairs and Accounts in the matter of an ordinance change re unclassified salaries, have considered said matter and beg leave to report as follows, to wit: Submit the accompanying ordinance and recommend its adoption. (This is formal vote of acceptance of Ordinance Chapter 17, Section 29 which was attached to Order #222 - Municipal Budget for FY1995 and which is recorded on page 116.) Ordinance read and adopted.
