COMMUNICATIONS FROM HIS HONOR THE MAYOR: July 5, 1994 Honorable City Council City Hall Dear Honorable Council: I hereby requst an appropriation of One Million Four Hundred Thirty-Eight Thousand Two Hundred Sixty-One Dollars and Eighty Cents ($1,428,261.80) to account "Energy Improvements - Beverly Public Schools". July 5, 1994 Honorable City Council City Hall Dear Honorable Council: RECORDS OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN I hereby request your permission to fill two part-time civilian parking meter enforcement positions These individuals will work on overlapping shifts slightly less than 20 hours per week each. Pay for the position will be $8.00 per hour. The positions will involve no health or pension benefitsi Better enforcement of parking meters has been fully discussed with the Police Department and the Chamber of Couunerce, and all are in agreement with this proposed action. COMMUNICATIONS FROM OTHER CITY OFFICERS AND BOARDS: June 30, 1994 The Honorable City Council City of Beverly Dear Councilors: The Board of Registrars of Voters has visited the program room of the new Beverly Public Library at the invitation of Mr. Thomas Scully, who has offered this facility to be used as a polling place for Ward 2, Precincts 1 and 2. The current polling place for these precincts is the First Baptist Church on Cabot Street. The Board of Registrars respectfully requests your approval of this site for the Ward Two polling places. The program room is particularly well suited for this activity. Each precinct will have ample room and the workers will be very comfortavis. This will allow the facility to be set up by Public Works Department on the day before the election; currently we must wait until 9:00 p.m. to wet up the Baptist Church on the day before the election. The Library provides more parking and excellent handicapped access; moreover, it will introduce that expanded city building, our new Library, to many who have yet to take advantage of its services. If the Council approves, it requires notification by mail to all registered voters in the ward. The Board of Registrars would appreciaty your prompt attention to this request. Lodge, 239 Hale Street, relative to the parking & litter that occurs each summer in the immediate area of his house. presently, there is an ordlnan the prohibits NO pARKING THIS SIDE on Hale Street, easterly side, form Neptune Street to Brackenbury Lane. Mr. Lodge's house is the next property after Brackenbury Lane and he would like to see the restriction extended to cover in front of his property. Please take the necessary action to amend City of Beverly Revised Ordinance Chapter 14, Section 120 as follows; Delete in its entirety: Hale Street, easterly side, from Neptune Street to BrackenburY Lane.
