2003-01-15Planning & Construction Committee Minutes January 15, 2003 A Meeting of the Planning & Construction Committee was held on Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at 7PM at the Beverly Public Library, 32 Essex Street, Beverly, MA. Members Present: Ray Bouchard, Cheryl Sydorko, Rod Maxner, Bob Griffin, Dan Skolski, and Debbie Comeau Others Present: Peter Seamans, Ron Bouchard, Sam Bird, Pete Gaudreau, Art Daignault The Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by the Chairman, Mr. Bouchard. Mr. Seamans presented his report to the Commission on the status of the school building projects. Mr. Bouchard updated the Commission on the status of the boilers at the high school. The right-hand boiler was fired yesterday morning and is now the lead boiler. They will have this boiler run for approximately seven days and then they will take the old boiler off line. Mr. Bouchard reported that the Beverly Farms Library is at 23% completion as of today. There is rebar showing in the deck in the foyer of the building and additional core samples are being taken to make sure the deck is safe. Mr. Bouchard reported that a Public Meeting was held on January 6, 2003 regarding the Beverly Golf & Tennis veranda roof. There is a signed, executed contract and work is ongoing. The Massachusetts Historical Society is involved in both the Beverly Farms Library project and the Beverly Golf & Tennis because both buildings are on the historical register. Mr. Bird gave the Commission with a copy of the Change Order Log for Centerville School. He also presented a “Draft” of the Centerville School Dedication Sign which will be mounted in the lobby of the school. There was some confusion as to the proper format regarding the “Massachusetts Technical Collaborative” organization being included on the sign. The matter was tabled until revisions could be made to the draft. Mr. Maxner made a Motion to accept the minutes of the December 18, 2003 meeting as presented. Fortress Boston Corp. 8924 466.00*** Minutes 1/15/03 Page Two *** This bill has been held. Mr. Maxner made a Motion to pay the invoices as presented which was seconded by Mr. Skolski. The Motion was carried unanimously. Mr. Maxner made a Motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:20 PM. The Motion was seconded by Ms. Sydorko and carried unanimously.
