2001-07-18PLANNING & CONSTRUCTION COMMITTEE MINUTES July 18, 2001 A Meeting of the Planning & Construction Committee was held on Wednesday, July 18, 2001 at 7PM at the Beverly Public Library, 32 Essex Slreet, Beverly, MA. Members Present: Raymond Bouchard. Chairman; Maureen Hobin, Timothy Brennan, Thad Siemasko and Debbie Comeau Others Present: Peter Seamans, Michael Harrison, Sam Bird, Judy Mulligan The Meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM by Mr. Bouchard. Mr. Seamans reported to the Commission on the status of the school buildlng construction projects. Mr. Gill of Cross Lane was present at the meeting. The Commission discussed the ongoing issue with regard to a fence being constructed along Mr. Gill's property line. Mr. Brennan made a Motion to allow for 220' of 4 foot vinyl-clad chalnlink fence 14.5' from the stone wall within reason of the property line. This Motion was seconded by Ms. Hobin and carried unanimously. The Commission has asked that the line be surveyed and marked before fence construction. Flansburgh Associates has requested that Weston & Sampson be retained for geotech work at North Beverly at a budgeted amount of $18,000.00. Mr. Brennan made a Motion to direct Fansburgh Associates to retain the services of Waston & Sampson Engineers for geotech services at North Beverly in a budgeted amount not to exceed $18,000.00. The Motion was seconded by Ms. Hobin and carried unanimously. The Commlssion is in receipt of a letter dated June 14, 2001 from Christine Lynch at Massachusetts Department of Education. The Commission is in receipt of a "Draft Confidential Report" dated June 25, 2001 of "Masonry Exploration Report - Beverly McKeown School. The Commission is in receipt of a Report from Sam Bird of Flansburgh Associates dated June 13, 2001 regarding the status of the school construction projects. Mr. Bird addressed the Commission regnrding Hannah Roof and an alternative solution. He will present the Commission with a proposal for services and sketches of what will be done by the next meeting. The Commission is in receipt of Change Order Logs for Hannah & Cove Schools. Flansburgh reported that the technology issue is still ongoing at Ayers Ryal Side School. They will invoke the 7-day order in hopes of a resolution. Mr. Harrison has set up a meeting with Ms. Hobin, Ms. Sydorko & Ms. Mulligan to discuss the color for the North Beverly School on July 24, 2001 at 2 PM. Mr. Brennan made a Motion to approve the following minutes: April 4, 2001, April 18, 2001, April 25, 2001 and May 16, 2001. The Motion was seconded by Mr. Siemasko and carried unanimously. Mr. Harrison will provide the Commission with a Site Plan of Centerville at thc August 15, 2001 mooting. Mr. Bouchard reported on the following items: · Thc Contract for the feasibility study at the High School is in draft form; · Hurd Stadium project is on hold; · Feasibility study at Beverly Golf & Tennis, Club has been done. Concrete still to be done. Mr. Brennan made a Motion seconded by Ms. Hobin to adjourn the meeting at 8:15 PM. The Motion was carried unanimously. Respectfully submitted,
