May 2020 Veterans Council Meeting MinutesJerry Guilebbe called the meeting to order at 4:05pm. The meeting was being live streamed and recorded.

Reading and Approval of the Minutes
Paul Weinberg made a motion to accept the January and February meeting minutes. Motion was seconded and carried.
Financial Report
No changes to financial report.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Memorial Day Program/Wreaths and Flowers – Mayor Cahill met with Emergency Services and the decision was made to cancel the parade. Wreaths will still be placed at monuments as needed.
There was a discussion regarding having BevCam record the placing of the wreaths and a small group assemble at O’Dell Park and having the ceremony live streamed. David will reach out
to BevCam. Forty veterans have passed away since January. Bob Laws will read their names during the ceremony. Per Buddy Rehal, the Vittori-Rocci post is closed and has cancelled
all Memorial Day ceremonies. However, they will place a wreath at the Vittori memorial and at the post.
David Perinchief made a motion to not publicize the Memorial Day schedules. The motion was seconded and passed.
Flags for Cemeteries – - Beverly Farms Cemetery is all set with volunteers for flagging. Beverly Vietnam Veterans and the Spear post will be flagging Central, North Beverly, and St.
Mary’s Cemeteries. All
volunteers will practice social distancing. Paul Weinberg will take care of the Sons of Abraham Cemetery.
Veterans Cookout - The cookout was scheduled for July 31 and has been put on hold for now. The VA has shut down non-essential business until August.
Rainforest Reptiles Shows will present a show or have animals out for handling. They are leaving it up to the council. This will be a free event with no cost to the veterans council.
NEW BUSINESS
Vietnam Veterans Plaza – The name is supposed to on a granite block at the entrance. Mayor Cahill will speak to Mike Collins to get a status and get it moving again. There was discussion
regarding a having a curb cut at the plaza. David will send a summary of the issue to Mayor Cahill.
Good of the Order – – Donnie O’Connor suffered a stroke and has been in a rehabilitation facility. He should be coming home tomorrow.
