Special City Council Meeting
Public Meeting Minutes
Monday, May 16, 2022, 6:00pm
City Council Chambers, 191 Cabot St.
Julie Flowers, City Council President, called the meeting to order at 6:00pm, City Clerk,Lisa
Kent, took attendance by roll call.
Members Present: Hannah Bowen, Steven Crowley, Kathleen Feldman, Scott Houseman, Estelle
Rand, Todd Rotondo, Matthew St. Hilaire, Brendan Sweeney, Julie Flowers
Members Absent: None
Rotondo led the pledge of allegiance.
Presentations Awards and Memorials
Eric Barber from Engineering Department, Storm Water Presentation
Eric stated this will be a two part meeting and asked that anyone with questions submit them to
Rani so they can be tracked and addressed.
Barber played a video presentation he prepared. This is the first 40 minutes of the video, and the
rest will be shown at the next meeting.
A couple residents expressed their frustration with the situation and the brook behind their
houses.
Barber stated that the clock can't be rewound but steps are being taken to not have the situation
compound. The City is in the permitting process to clean the culverts under the Cummings
Center. In 2009-2010 there was a comprehensive project that took place to stabilize the brook.
Unfortunately there are limitations, and we need to have the proper permissions and do it in the
right way. We have to start downstream to increase capacity and work our way up.
Flowers stated this will be continued to 6pm on June 6.
A motion to adjourn was made and seconded. A vote was taken, and the motion carried (9-0).
The meeting adjourned at 7:03pm.
