Dec. 7 Minutes BOD meeting Awards Committee
e The awards committee did not meet this month-looking forward to 2022 events: Senior
of the Year and Wall of Fame events.
Unfinished Business
• Staff and participants continue to wear masks while in the building. Attendance is
currently capped at 36 for large events.
• We have been working with SeniorCare to discuss re-starting the Congregate Meal
program. Jessica Wistran and Blair Smith will meet to discuss this.
• Blair proposed that the January meeting be extended 30 minutes to include time to
discuss the Strategic Plan and be moved to Thursday, January 13th.
• The Board would like to have more discussion about the ARPA funds internally before
inviting the Mayor. Jessica Wistran moved to invite Mayor Cahill to the February
meeting, Susan Feeney seconded. All in favor.
• Jessica Wistran is working on policy updates on public comment at COA Board Meetings
and "emeritus" status. She will provide an update at the next meeting.
• Livin' the Good Life production is continuing -the next episode will be on the Walk in
the Woods program with Bob Hobbs as host and Ann Nadeau, participant and MaryAnn
Holak as guests.
New Business
• Samatha Kossow presented an update on the Senior Property Tax Abatement Program in
2021 and plans for 2022.
• Samatha Kossow distributed the proposed Title VI Program plan to the Board and
provided packets with a copy of the plan. The Board will keep Title VI on the agenda for
the January meeting to consider approval of the program.
Announcements
• The official swearing in of elected officials will take place on Monday, January 3, 2022
at 12:OOpm at the Beverly High School Auditorium -the board is welcome to attend.
• The Board is invited to attend the Holiday Tree Lighting at the Senior Center on
December 16th.
