PUBLIC MEETING MINUTES
COMMISSION Historic District Commission

Chair Finch call the special meeting to order at 6:06 pm. This is a site walk in the Fish Flake Hill
National Register District.
1. Site Walk: Fish Flake Hill National Register Historic District
Members meet to walk through the district. Hutchings provides the map for members to walk.
The site walk includes lower Cabot Street, Union Street, Stone Street, Cottage Lane, Front
Street,Davis Street, South Street, and Bartlett Street. Finch provides commentary on history and
architectural features on the homes, and LaMont reviews information on each historic home
noted in the National Register Nomination. Commission members review the district and
comment on the siding, windows, window treatment and replacement, paint, frames, and
additions. Members pointed out significant features to notable eras. Finch makes a comparative
analysis between the modern and historic features, noting that some areas blend better than
others. Members discuss intrusion properties and absentee landowners, and ask Hutchings for
additional information on ownership data as is available. Hutchings states she will compile
available information for the next meeting.
2. Schedule next meetin2 of the Study Committee for the potential expansion of the
Fish Flake Hill Local Historic District
Commission members determine to review the subject at the next regular HDC meeting.
