2021 05 12 School Committee Minutes Mr. Mullady reported at the May 5, 2021 CISL meeting the Committee was presented with School Improvement Plans updates and goals. He gave a brief summary of the three (3) goals at each of the school levels. He remarked that the presentations were outstanding and noted that some of the goals were topics they, as a Committee, have been discussing the last couple of years. The next CISL meeting is scheduled for June 9, 2021. Neaotiations Subcommittee - Rachael Abell. Chair,(BevCam 2:03:16) Ms.Abell reported that the Negotiating Subcommittee met this evening and voted to move forward with the Interest Based Bargaining (IBB). The subcommittee and members of the BTA participated in a training and to go over the ground rules on May 6th with Lois Mason. They currently have some tentative dates for extended sessions. These meetings will take place at McKeown. Policy Subcommittee -Rachael Abell. Chair (BevCam 2:04:34) Ms.Abell reported in terms of Policy Subcommittee they need to schedule a meeting to review some of the MASC policies and ones that have been revised. Ms.Abell extended her appreciation to Ms. Robinson for serving on the North Beverly Principal Search Committee. Communications (BevCam 2:05:46) Mayor Cahill reported Troy Randall from Ai3 called to inform him that Beverly had been awarded the LEED Silver Certificate. This represents a level of attainment on the design, construction, and how the building operates. Mr. Mullady reported receiving an email that he will be forwarding to the rest of the School Committee members. Ms. Visnick reported all of the people she had heard from spoke at the public hearing or she had already brought up their issues. Ms.Abell reported a question from a constituent, if the high school would be returning to the Panther Pride schedule. She referred them to Dr. Charochak who confirmed that they would be in the fall. Dr. McKenzie reported a constituent reached out with concerns around the SPED budget and making sure we continue to amplify that. Ms. Robinson reported a suggestion: Should the crossing guard at the middle school be across the street in the a.m. and switch in the p.m. Dr. Charochak asked that she forward her the email. Motion to Adjourn: (BevCam 2:09:17) A motion was made by Mayor Cahill to adjourn the School Committee meeting. The motion was seconded by Ms. Visnick and approved by a vote of 7:0.
