2021 06 16 School Committee Minutes Communications (BevCam 1:28:14)
Ms. Robinson received some communications from elementary and middle school parents
regarding the instrumental band program which she passed onto Dr. Charochak.
Ms.Abell expressed her appreciation for the collaboration with the city on the flag raising this
month and she is excited to see the musical offerings back at Lynch Park. Ms.Abell said she
received a communication on bike and bus safety and she was pleased to hear they are
receiving some bike safety tips here on the BMS campus. Ms.Abell reported a communication
she received today to consider basketball at the middle school level. Ms.Abell said it was a
great honor to attend the Anchor Point groundbreaking with Dr. Charochak and Mayor Cahill
and reported she participated, along with Dr. Flaherty and Principal Thomas, in some
attendance campaign planning, which is an offshoot of the Be Healthy Beverly Group. Ms.
Abell highlighted a community event for High School Mental Health at Ober Park on Saturday
for high school age students. Ms.Abell said she appreciated the efforts that went into putting
together the BHS graduation and she is looking forward to the middle school promotion day
tomorrow. Dr. Charochak remarked that there are three (3)waves of the promotions for the
Grade 8 middle school students beginning at 9:00, 10:30, and 12:00 each neighborhood will
have their assigned time.
Mayor Cahill shared an update on the multi-site solar project reporting that the cost for
infrastructure from National Grid has come in significantly above projections. The original
projection was about $400,000, he stated what has come back is $1.1 million. Mayor Cahill
said they are working with Kearsage and National Grid to find a way to push back some on
these costs.

A motion was made by Ms. Robinson to adjourn the School Committee meeting. The motion
was seconded by Ms. Coelho and approved by a vote of 6:0.
The School Committee Meeting adjourned at 8:29 p.m.
