1996-06-10ELEMENTARY FACILITY BUILDING COMMISSION MINUTES A meeting of the Elementary Facilities Building Commission was held on Monday, June 10, 1996 at 12:00 noon at the Briscoe Middle School in the School Committee room. Present were Nancy Levin, Mike Lauranzano, Michele Gordon, Judy Mulligan, City Planner Tina Cassidy, Earl Flansburgh and Jearme Kuespert of ERF+A, and Mike Radner of Geller Assoc. Jeanne gave Judy a copy of the receipt from the state for submittal of the project documents. Mike L. made a motion and Nancy seconded to inquire of Tom Alexander for the names of consultants to write the archaeological site RFP required by the Mass. Historical Commission. If no answer is available within 48 hours, the commission will ask ERF+A to hire a consultant. Geotechnical update: spread footings will be OK per Westin and Sampson. Mike requested that a copy of their report be sent to George Zambouras. Proprietary votes were taken and approved on the following items: LCN closers, Von Duprin panic hardware and Collins & Aikman "Sentinel" carpet. Mike L. made the motion, Nancy L. seconded, and the vote was 2-0 on each item. The specifications will request these items for all 6 schools. Mike was given a list of people to contact regarding the front end of the specs. Any changes must be made ASAP. The City Council should vote tonight on the permit fee waiver. Mike Raclner has two site issues to discuss - Hannah parking and irrigation at the new school. The ConCom doesn't like the current proposal for Hannah parking. The Building Commission will discuss alternatives at the next meeting. The cost of irrigation for the soccer field at the new school is estimated to be $20-30,000. This will be discussed at the next meeting as well. The next meeting will be held on Monday, June 24 at 10:00 a.m. at the Briscoe Middle School. Respectfully submitted, Judith A. Mulligan Secretary/Clerk
